I did some tracks last month at a friend's place. He had the JDK (API's lower line) stereo pre and comp. They're 1000 each give or take and I thought they were great. The UA 610 is still one of my fav pres out there as well.
That's interesting. I've never tracked/checked out those. I listed the Great River as "FS" on the web and have a guy foisting an API 3124+ on me as trade bait. I might... I love the API EQs but haven't owned any of thier pres. If the Great River doesn't sell for cash quickly and he's still interested, I'll do the trade just so I can get my ears around what an API 312 sounds like with my playing/gear.
