Exclamation PSA - Vertex Effects Cables are repackaged Neutrik/Belden cables?

It appears to me (you guys be the judge) -- that sphere of lies regarding proprietary products development is getting larger around Vertex Effects. It turns out that folks that have purchased the Vertex cable and disassembled them to prove Vertex Effects claims on the cables right - seemed to come away conclusion that he (Mason Marangella) lied about the cables as well.

According tho the following posts (at another forum) -- Mason Marangella (owner of Vertex Effects) claimed that the cables were hand made in house, with hand installed sheath and hand landed ends!.

"....it's a twisted pair shielded cable. Sonically, if you reversed the cable, there would be no change is sound, however it wouldn't shield as well and as a result could introduce more noise depending on the environment....'

"...Any directional cable would do the same...manufacturers claiming a sonic advantage for direction cables are either uneducated on the science or are blatantly disregarding it for a marketing angle.... LINK

According to individuals that purchased the Vertex cables and decided to take them apart, claim that the above statements made by Vertex Effects are false and the cables are nothing more than rebranded Neutrik/Belden cables. It appears he added a colored shrink wrap with the Vertex logo to hide the real brand name,

Here are some pictures posted on another forum allegedly disputing the product claims made by Vertex Effects about their cables.

Kinda similar to a Belden 9778....but would need a Belden 9778 in person to compare it to.

Mason is such a filthy scumbag,....Well at least I am glad I did not buy the cables. This guy really should NOT be in business, I hope all his dealers and endorsers separate from him ASAP.

    Guys,

    Let's make something positive here.

Buy a reasonable 30W soldering iron and a good pair of snips and learn how to solder your own cable ends.

I personally recommend the top of the range Amphenol gold connectors (about $5 each as opposed to the $1.50 Neutrik connector in the pics on this thread) but the higher end Neutriks are fine too.
For cable, you will be pushed to beat Gepco XB20US for unbalanced instrument cables. Don't go for any ultra low capacitance cables as they are not what we (well me anyway) design our amps to work with.

You would have many cables for the price of this marked up bullshit on this thread....and with a better audio cable for guitar applications.

For the record, pulling the wool over customers eyes causes distrust in the market place and we all suffer. Every time i hear stories like this it makes me feel down hearted.

Hi Alan, Thanks for the cable tips and info. I may have to start doing that, I do solder some. Regarding Vertex/Mason, it does make buyers a bit more
skeptical, I know it does me. However, you don't have to worry, as we all know you have a stellar reputation in customer service!
