Crazy night .... Santa and his pole dancing little helpers were out in force ... it got very interesting to say the least.

Was pretty tired by the end of the night .. and I think I dozed off on the bandstand

    Loop-Master -- Patch Bay

I thought it was going to be a dead night and the club owner would be mad at us -- wrong -- place was packed. I used the revised pedalboard using a dedicated delay in the loop and the H9 for multiple effects and it sounded fantastic.

got to try out an H3000 Eventide patch I created (detuned guitar chorus sound) as well as the harmonizer on a couple of tunes and it sounded fantastic. The auto wah and phaser also sounded incredible going through the front of the amp instead of the loop.

Slow night - rain -- cold-- very cold -- playoff games - but it picked up toward the end of the night - then folks did not want us to leave ....

Always love playing at this joint. It was freezing cold - but the place was still packed. Lot of diners so we had less room than usual -- so we had to pack ourselves into a tiny corner - we worked it out.

Well It promised to be a great night -- but with the wind chill at -20 folks decided to stay home (who can blame them). the club manager understood -- we even called them in advance and asked them if they wanted to reschedule the night and they said no -- come out and play -- which we did.

Picture pretty much sums up the night

Power Tubes Died At A Gig

    Gig #6 - 2015

Well it finally happened -- my power tubes died at a gig.

By the end of the first set -- voulme was gone and what was coming through sounded distorted. After the amp was on standby for a while (between sets) -- the volume came back but by the end of the set -- the same thing -- death by tubes.

I put some new tubes in the amp this weekend and she is sounding golden again.

Moral of the story -- always bring spare tubes with you to a gig!!!!!!!

    Fresh set of tubes

Put in a matched set of TADS and the amp sounded like a million bucks! It was nice to feel some juice under my fingers again.

Great night -- except for the fact that our bass player was sick and did not make the gig. Could not get a sub -- so we did the show with out him. Got through it. the keyboards filled some on keys and so did I (I have a bass preset in my Eventide H9 that is pretty convincing.

The star of the night was my Glasswerks Zingaro 100 Watt combo amp.

I have to tell you guys -- what an amp!

I got it with the following options

    100 watts
    combo
    FET preamp
    WGS Black hawk speaker upgrade
    Deleo Tuning

The Preamp Boost (simple clean FET preamp between the guitar and the first tube stage ) really eliminates the need to have a boost pedal on the board. It gives an adjustable clean boost to both the clean and OD channel. I found the preamp boost extremely useful and used it throughout the night.

The OD channel has it own separate (an additional) boost which functions as a tone stack lift. The OD Boost adds a flat boost of about 20db with a slight peak at about 4K adding fullness and fatness to the OD tone.

The cleans on the amp are amazing -- it felt like I was playing through a twin on steroids. The OD was spectacular.

The master volume on the amp works incredibly well -- was extremely easy to fine tune volume during gig -- I just reached over and adjusted MV and was done.

    Love this amp!
