    Dear Strat,

So I gave you a second chance. Then a third and so on. I got a new amp. I tried and tried to get along with you but your long neck, thin-as-beans tone and your big ugly horn have pushed me over the edge. I won't shame you in public or mock you, but it is just over. We can still be friends I guess, but don't expect to be plugged into my amps any day soon. I should keep you around for novelty's sake, but to be brutally honest I can't really even stand you living in this house with me. Its been a long road and I have heard all about forgive and forget, but in this case we need to be separated. It might be years. It might be forever. I wish you all the best. With all those Fender amps around, you should make it out there OK. There are more fish in the sea than just me.

Don't hate me. Just say goodbye and move on with your life.

    Sincerely,

    ExJunkman.

PS Let me know if you meet up with a cool amp. I would consider trading you instead of selling you like an ugly step child.

    Thin neck? There's the problem!

    What model was it?

Did I say neck? I meant tone. Its a '96 USA Standard. Same color as Malmsteens. Nice guitar. I have just gotten so used to the short scale and meaty tone of my Traditional that I can barely handle a Tele anymore.

Don't now man --- nothing thin about my strat tones.

My strats can go from delicate piano like tones to thick and juicy....

    I have three
    1. Suhr Landau Classic (SSS) - has the Landau/Fletcher spec Single coil pickups -- and they are great --- bridge can get thick (depending on tone control settings and amp/pedal settings)
    2. Tyler Black Classic (Landau SSH) - has secret sauce bridge hum bucker -- best of both worlds
    3. Tyler Studio Elite HD (SSH) with Mid-Boost - I will put this up to a Les Paul any day of the week or night! I think this is the ultimate super strat. Can go from "sultans" chime to "Alright Know" grind with a flip of a switch.

The Tyler Studio Elite HD (IMHO) is probably the best all around gigging guitar I have ever owned

Also the tyler necks are to die for --- very nice and comfortable 59 LP profiles!

I have a white and dark neck. I love them both.

    My Tele is nice also.

I hate guitars that have neck dive. Strats are always well balanced.

Some don't like strats and that's all right.

    OP again.

OK I still hate strats, but I was completely FLOORED when I played a Clapton strat. Omigosh, it was so lovely. And just under $1k.
The neck on that thing was incredible. I knew I better put it down before I got into trouble!

I think they are way over rated. It isthe erector set of the guitar world. You too can bolt one together and try to get some schlub to fork over a couple grand.

I have played a lot of great Stratocaster guitars and copies. I will never get the $3000.00+ Warmoth/USACG guitars marketed by some boutique builders.

Seeing as how anyone with a little skill and some tools can make a T or S style guitar pretty easily it surprises me that some "builders" (if I screw together an IKEA table am I Norm Abram?) can get away with charging that much.

I have no problem paying for a well built guitar and I like Warmoth's stuff. Just not at $3000 for $800 worth of parts.

Well THIS one was used at GC. $999.00. Not terribly bad for this guitar.
Actually all I liked was the neck.

Anybody know who has necks like the Clapton neck?

    Warmoth, All parts, Mity-Mite?
How much would I expect to pay for one?
