DiMarzio Area 61 Pickups - Extremely Surprised ...

... at how good these things sound.

I put a set of DiMarzio Area 61 Pickups on my James Tyler Burning Water 2k and I have to tell you, I am completely blown away. I put DiMarzio Area 61 Pickups in both neck and middle positions.

I play in a lot of pubs/small clubs that are infested with neon lights, big screen TVs, monitors and all around bad power. Needless to say this makes playing with single coil guitars a somewhat noisy experience -- especially if you are playing mostly clean stuff.

The Area 61 pickups are hum free and they sound great.

If you are looking for a noise free solution that delivers a 50s - to 60's vintage tone for your guitar -- you need to check out the DiMarzio Area 61 Pickups.

Indeed, I agree. The Area 61 pickups sound really good. Lollar Blackfaces are probably my favorite single coil, but they're just too noisy in the majority of places that I play.

A student of mine had me install some Area 61's in his Strat, and holy smokes! They really sounded good. I finally put some in my Nashville style Tele with an Area T 615 in the bridge. Really good pickups.

I think we are all been so brainwashed to think you need expensive pickups - from xyz company. god forbid putting something like a DiMarzio on a custom 4k guitars.

    Seriously blown away.

I was going to order a suhr tele with SSC system -- I think what I am going to do is find myself a nice Fender tele with a chunky neck and slap some DiMarzio nosieless tele pickups on it and save myself a whole lot of "Benjamins"

With the exception of Lollar I really tend to like the bigger companies' pickups to the 'boutique' ones.

I really love my Fender Vintage Noiseless for playing in noisy places and a lot of the CS pickups (esp the CS69) are great, too.

DiMarzio and Duncan both make great pickups at really fair prices.
