HNGD - The d00ded in Stephensville came through!!!11!!!!

Delivered just in time to get used to it. Took many moons (no pun intended) to figure out the specs on this one.

G style neck profile, Brazilian board, vintage style G frets, fancy top and non-hollow birdies with a more mellow finish.

Loving it!!!!!! Coolest thing is it was made about an hour from my house.

    SWEET!!!!!

PRS makes my favorite sounding electric guitars period. If I could have any guitar, any year, price no object, it would be one of my PRS Artist 3s or 10 anniversary semi hollow trem.

Thanks Tag! Quick question - what are you using for strings on yours? Mostly I play older guitars (or new ones designed to be like the old ones) so I use nickel Fender strings. A friend of mine is a big PRS guy and he swears by stainless D'Addarios. Would be curious to know your opinion.

Just your everyday Dean Markley 10s, for no other reason than I have been using them for as long as I can remember, and they always sound "right" to me. Very neutral. Not to bright, not to dull. The DA stainless sound to bright for my taste. It really is a matter of what you are going for. They would be brighter and snappier than the ones I use..... Beautiful top and color on that guitar by the way. NICE!

I ended up using D'Addario 10s on this and it's a really great guitar. It is nothing like a Les Paul, but I like that, as it is its own thing. Feels a little slinkier and I have the action set a little lower.

All in all I really like it. I like the PRS pickups, which I was really concerned about because changing them seems like a really common thing. These are lower output as humbuckers go, but I tend to not really dig the high output stuff.

After a few months of using it live and doing some recording with it I'm really a fan.

Great to hear! PRS makes some killer guitars. On the other side of the tracks, I just picked up a really nice sounding 2001 flame top R8. LOVE the neck on it, and I think its why I always thought they sounded better than R9s. Its that big neck. Hopefully I will hold on to this one and not sell it after a few months like all my R9s. I had a 2002 KILLER flam R8 when they first came out, and kept it for years. Hopefully this one will be the same way. I did not even want a guitar, but was using it to demo the SF Twin I just bought, and I slowly fell in love with it. Had to have both!
