After viewing new Line 6 Helix demos, i preordered one from Sweetwater today and got the 20% discount. You need to call and ask for it! I gigged extensively with an Af-FX 2 and I have to tell you, what I heard so far -- does not justify in my book the $2,500 additional costs you will spend on the Axe-Fx and pedalboard. You can literally buy 3 helix Amp and effects modelers for the price of one Axe-FX XL and one MFC-101 midi board

If you own a recording studio and need 200 amps and deep editing - yes Axe all the way -- but for a gigging musician that is looking to downsize or looking for a backup to their tube rig -- I do not think you are going to beat this thing. The clean tones in the video closed the deal for me ... the Klon sealed it

I'm a tube amp / pedalboard user. I pre-ordered the Helix as well. I also ordered an L2m to use with it as a monitor for my guitar. Anxious and nervous at the same time. I'm looking to replace my amp/board for smaller venues and gigs. If course if it works out I'll probably use for the bigger gigs too.

Yep -- I have one on order ...however .. I could not help myself --- took advantage of Fractal summer discount and purchased an XL+

I will be able to compare the two using QS K10s

Cool. It will be interesting to hear how they compare. Let us know. I've never used an Axe-Fx.

AF2 is really high end and I truly believe is an overkill for most people....

I happen to know my way around the Axe-Fx and I am very comfortable with it and it really is a remarkable one of a kind piece of music gear (again once you learn how to use it)

I am sure with the Ultra HiRez cabs that are available a good player that knows how to tweak a preset will get the Helix to sound fantastic and create some tube snob level presets/tones )
