    Shadow Amps MK 40

I've owned so many different Vox style amps, and my favorite is easily my Shadow amps MK40. *It's a Vox style amp with a bit of Plexi mixed in. *Just amazing clean to slight breakup tones. *I have it paired with a Bruno 2x12 pine cab with 20w Greenbacks. *I highly recommend it! *Anyone else tried one?

Still loving the 20w Greenbacks with this amp, but I've also found that the Red White & Blues also sounds great. Much darker and warmer than the Greenbacks......not better, just a totally different tone and feel. This amp is loud amp when in its sweet spot, but man does it sing! Pushing those 20w GB's with the volume at 50 to 100%, is a thing of beauty. Amazing sustain! This amp is not one of those modern, refined, P&W, Vox-inspired amps. This thing is a mix of raw, vintage, juicy, Vox/Plexi tones. There's no hiding here, as this amp will highlight every nuance of your playing......good or bad. Definitely not a beginners amp. The amps that this amp kicked out of the stable were a Mojave Sidewinder, Matchless (HC30, Avalon, Phoenix), Bruno UG30, JMI 30/6TB, and Vox AC30HW. They were all amazing amps, and many players would prefer them to the MK40, but the MK40 was the one I found myself plugging into more often than not.
