Best amp I have ever played...

After two months of solid playing, practice, and gigging, the honeymoon is over; The best amp I've ever played is the Longhorn El Vaquero; Big tones, amazing dynamics, with an excellent feel. Awesome job Mr. Terry Wright!

***A close second would be my original 66' Deluxe Reverb.***

I'm glad you are still loving the El Vaquero!
We need you to put up some clips, but in the
    meantime there's this:

I checked the website but did not find out much about the amp, such as handwired? effects loop? tube layout,
it seemed like Lance was getting a lot of gain in the video. How is the clean sound, I noticed you said 66DR a close 2nd,
it seems like the DR is a much different amp, did you mean the clean channels? Is yours the one Lance is playing in the
    video?

Don't get me wrong... The DR is a very different amp. It is THE Fender clean... Think James Wilsey with Chris Isaak tones.

The El Vaquero has the same friendly feel as a good old Fender, but it's just more of everything. The mids (where guitar tone lives) are just pushes forward just enough. Added to the fact that it's the most dynamic amp I've ever played... If you lighten up it is sweet and airy, if you dig in it barks. It is hand wired with an effects loop, and sports 6L6GC power tubes.

The amp seems to get a good amount of distortion, and the longhorn that lights up is to cool.
I was checking out some you tube video's and the amp seems to get more distortion than the average TR.
I know you have had a lot of two rocks and other high end amps, is the od channel on par with
those? Do you have the 1x12 model?

To be honest... I don't think it gains up as much as other amps. I do my heavier Dist stuff with pedals. It will gain up with the FET, PAB, and in the OD channel and when cranked, but that's not where I live.

It seemed to have a really nice rock sound when Lance turned on all 3 switches. Would you say this amp gets you closet to the Chris Issac don't want to fall in love tones?

Not really... The "Wicked Game" tones are total Deluxe Reverb with signal fed back through a 2290 to add the chorusing. James used a Strat and the DR and got some of the best cleans in the world on that track IMHO. The El V is more pronounced in the mids and just fatter all over. A great live amp!

Thanks for your replies, I really like the wicked game tones, the Longhorn amp looks really cool though,
I wish I could try it out. When are you selling yours?

Ain't happening... In fact, I'm saving up for a Texas Tru-Tone. Terry is the man!

BTW- The new G12H Creamback is fantastic with the Longhorns.
