    NGD... Finally!

After months and months of being without an acoustic... (I sold my Goodall to fund this purchase... Nut too wide for me.), this beauty finally arrived. A custom Collings OM with tons of special appointments. Some fine work is being done down in Austin I can assure you! Sorry about the quick cellphone photos. I'll get better ones up soon.

That is a beauty ----- Judging by the body size, is the tone a little on the brass side (which I like)?

Thanks Laz... It's actually a smaller bodied guitar... standard OM size. The picture makes it look bigger than it really is. I chose the OM body for comfort and even tone. There is really no spiked tones anywhere. Perfectly EQ'd IMHO.

There are some awesome detail work that I will try to get pictures of. One example is the center strip down the back is a series of probably more than 100 tiny wood squares. Each square is 7 separate minuscule pieces of wood glued together. Stunning!

    Re: NGD... Finally! Collings content.

After playing this guitar for 2 weeks I have determined the following... EQ wise the OM is the most balanced guitar size on the planet. I played a dreadnought the other day at my favorite acoustic guitar shop (Olde Town Pickin' Parlor) and it just sounded boomy and loose compared to my OM.

The other thing is, Collings is a true master craftsman. This is the most amazing guitar I have ever played, period. Now if I can only talk maplebaby into selling me his AT-16...

I don't own a Collings but I have played enough to know they're fantastic guitars. I agree with you on the size as well. In general I tend to like the smaller acoustics for playing around the house and recording.

    Good score and great pics!

    Congrats!
